The Maslow Hierarchy

The Maslow Hierarchy is a psychological theory created by Abraham Maslow in 1943. Maslow's theory was that people were motivated by each step of the pyramid in the order from bottom to top. The Theory is contested and isn't viewed as "fixed" person to person, but it still provides information about a general pattern that appears in societies time to time. As a result, it is sometimes used as an intuitive shortcut and a useful framework in social fields and social sciences. Maslow himself said that a need doesn't need to be completely fulfilled before continuing to another.
